Thrissur Zoo and Museum is a major attraction in Thrissur town. It is divided into two sections by a public road. There is an overbridge to reach the other side of the zoo.The 13.5 acres of the compound houses Zoological Garden, Botanical Garden, Art Museum, and Natural History Museum. It also has a snake park with King Cobras, Cobras, Python, Kraits, Vipers and Rat Snakes. The zoo has animlas like tigers, lions, deer, sloth bears, monkeys, hippopotamus, camels, lion-tailed macaques and bird species like pink flamingos. The Art Museum has wood-carvings, metal sculptures, Kathakali figures, ancient jewellery and a wonderful collection of traditional Kerala lamps. The zoo is open from 10:00 AM till 6:30 PM. It is closed on Mondays.
