Peechi Dam is a basically an irrigation project but it has become a poular picnic spot in Thrissur.It provides drinking water to Thrissur town and also provides water for the paddy fields.There are boating facilities at the reservoir.It also has botanical gardens and fountains.The dam is built across the Manali river. The Peechi wildlife sanctuary is also nearby. Sometimes elephants can be seen on the banks of the reservoir.

Peechi dam is well connected to Thrissur town just 20 kms away. There are regular buses from there.The airport at Nedumbassery is 98 kms away.
