Edappally is an important suburban town of Kochi. The town has ample religious significance. It is famous for the Edapally Ganapathy Temple. Thrikkakkara temple is only 2 kilometers away from Edappally Toll junction. The town is also known for St. George's Church , an important pilgrimage centre. Edappally mosque (more than 1000 years old) and many other old buildings are preserved in Edappally. The world-famous museum of Kerala History and sculpture is also located in Edappally (outside the city limits). Moreover, it is the home town of the famous Malayalam poets Changampuzha Krishna Pillai and Edappally Raghavan Pillai. The Amritha Institute of Medical Sciences, one of the most famous super specialty hospitals in Kerala is located here.
