Malayalapuzha is a very famous town in Pathanamthitta. It lies in the taluk of Konni. The nearest town is Kumbazha. It is a radiant temple town famous for the Malayalapuzha temple dedicated to Bhagwathy. This temple is also known for its beautiful wall paintings. Thousand devotees worship at the temple weekly, with Tuesday and Friday being the most popular days of worship. Goddess Bhadrakali here is popularly known as "Malayalapuzha Amma" and the people here are indebted to this goddess. This is the only temple in Kerala where the " Satha Kodi Archana" has been performed.

It is believed that this temple was originally situated in a small village called Edathitta ,in Pathanamthitta Dist. An ascetic from the village of Malayalapuzha visited this place ,as he heard a lot about this temple and his home town was in drought. This ascetic with his tantrik power migrated the shakti of this temple’s devi to Malayalpuzha. Thereafter, Malayalapuzha started progressing while Edathitta started experiencing problems. The people of this town helped in building this temple and today it’s the landmark of this town.
